The Barbergators were chartered in 1973 to:
- Perpetuate and celebrate harmony in the barbershop style
- Promote fellowship and friendship among men of good will
- Provide the oportunity to experince the joy of four-part a cappella harmony
- Introduce and sustain music in lives of people everywhere
- Provide education in good vocal techniques
